What is the future of the traditional hill farm? During the last few years it has become increasingly difficult to make
a lot of money from hill farming. Farmers have had to learn to do other
things in addition to farming in order to make a living. Many farms, like
Tarn House, now offer bed and breakfast accommodation, afternoon teas
and catering. The 'Adopt a Sheep Project' is another idea used by Tarn
House to provide income through educating people about fell sheep and
hill farming in Cumbria. |
